Project Description
The project entails the upgrade of an 80-year-old power station.

Included in the project is the replacement of six units at the Rapide-Blanc generating station, including the installation of new turbines, generators and digital governors, as well as the refurbishment of embedded turbine components.

Capital Expenditure
Hydro-Quebec is expected to invest about $613-million in the project.

Planned Start/End Date
Work on the project is expected to begin in 2020. The contract is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Latest Developments
Hydro-Quebec has awarded Voith the contract for the replacement of six units at the Rapide-Blanc generating station. The site work and assembly is expected to begin in 2021.
